Connecting Veterans

A wide network of support services helps those who have proudly served in the military. FLCC partners with the Canandaigua VA Medical Center to provide veterans with resources that ease their transition from military to civilian life.

Student Veterans Organization

The Student Veterans Organization is a social and educational organization that provides service and support for military and non-military students. The intent of the Student Veterans Organization is to harness the collective experience and knowledge of all members and to provide social functions for members in order to better serve:

  • Veteran students
  • Veteran families
  • Finger Lakes Community College
  • The greater community

Veteran's Advocacy Training Program

Veteran's advocacy training is offered on a rolling basis, roughly every three years. This training program provides faculty and staff with the opportunity to learn about the needs of FLCC students who have served in the military. Faculty and staff who complete the program are designated as official veteran advocates.

Canandaigua VA Medical Center

The Canandaigua VA Medical Center has provided inpatient and outpatient medical services to veterans living in upstate New York since 1933. The Canandaigua VA provides primary care, mental health care, alcohol and drug abuse rehabilitation, post-traumatic stress disorder care, a domiciliary care program, and community living centers (nursing home care). Visit the Canandaigua VA Medical Center.
