Nursing Entry Options for Health Care Studies Students

Health Care Studies (Healthcare track) students can consider the following entry options to enter the nursing program. Your advisor can assist you in selecting the pathway that is right for you.

    • Health Care Direct Entry: This program aligns with the course requirements and expectations of FLCC's A.A.S. Nursing program. As a pre-nursing pathway, this track introduces key concepts essential for nursing success. You'll complete prerequisite and general education courses that will prepare you to meet the requirements to enter our nursing program.
    • Admission by Points or TEAS Exam: Eligibility is based on a point system that evaluates academic performance in required courses. If you do not reach the minimum point value, you may take the TEAS exam as an alternate admissions pathway.

Visit our nursing admissions page for more details on eligibility requirements.

  • Innovative, Real-World Healthcare Training

Practice your healthcare skills in our recently renovated and expanded Sands Family Center for Allied Health. The space includes a real-life hospital setting, science labs, and a holography lab, which allows students to view three-dimensional images of organs to better understand human anatomy and physiology. You'll receive clinical training and guidance from our experienced instructors from day one and benefit from opportunities to practice scenarios.

Join an Active Health Care Studies Learning Community

FLCC has a student-led Health Care Studies club that invites anyone interested in healthcare to join. Many club members already work in the healthcare field and are eager to share their opinions, values, and experiences about the industry. The club meets about once a month to build community and assist one another in their studies.
