It includes 180 hours of training. Prepare for the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council (MSSC) Certified Production Technician (CPT) exams in safety, quality, production process, and maintenance procedure.

Produce vital components for industries ranging from automotive to aerospace and medical devices in a rapidly advancing sector. This program was developed in partnership with local industry leaders to align skills with current workplace demands.
Manufacturing careers, such as machine operators, offer strong earning potential, with a median annual wage of $46,800 (or $22.50/hour) as of May 2024 (Bureau of Labor Statistics).

Program Costs
The Certified Production Technician program costs $3,000. This includes all programming, books, supplies, and certification exam fees. Many participants can reduce the out-of-pocket cost of this program by applying for county funding.

Funding Opportunities
Funding may be available through your local county workforce office. Our Certified Production Technician program qualifies for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which provides up to $3,000 to job seekers participating in training for in-demand industries.
WIOA funding is administered through Finger Lakes Works. Residents of Ontario, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates Counties can find information about their Finger Lakes Works center online. Residents of other counties may contact their local county workforce office for further assistance.

Program Schedule and Learning Format
Complete 180 hours of training over 26 weeks through a mix of live online sessions and VR simulation labs.
