About
Burdock Broughton is an adjunct faculty member in the Humanities Department, teaching college writing and research courses. They serve as the Assistant Coach for Esports, providing academic support to student-athletes. They previously served as Electronic Resources and Online Instruction Librarian and Access Services and Resource Sharing Librarian.
Burdock regularly teaches Honors sections, and their classroom focuses on student engagement and reflection. They draw on their extensive background in libraries to bring information literacy and research support to each class.
Burdock is an author whose work has been published by DAW as well as a number of small and indie publishers, and has been a regular panel participant and moderator at the World Fantasy Convention, the North American Science Fiction Convention, and the National Irish Science Fiction Convention. They have worked extensively with the Human Library, both as a Book and as a Librarian, and facilitated a number of Human Library events with the Charles J. Meder Library. Burdock served on the councils of the SUNY Librarians Association and the New York State Library Association. They have been actively involved in the conferences of both organizations.
