FLX AI Hub news: Professional development online and in-person
This month's events are about analyzing and sharing information.
The FLX AI Hub at Finger Lakes Community College will host two free professional development events on artificial intelligence tools in March.
On March 10, Lindsey Chamberlain-Zeller, executive director of the FLCC Association, will host a webinar, “NotebookLM: Summarize, Analyze, and Create in Seconds.” The webinar runs from noon to about 1 p.m. on Zoom.
On March 19, the college will host an in-person workshop on AI for Marketing and Communications at the main campus. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and includes lunch.
The Webinar
The webinar will demonstrate how to use NotebookLM, a Google product that allows you to upload your own data and documents to build a knowledge base. When you chat with the AI in your notebook, all the responses will be taken directly from the sources you selected.
It also has a media creation studio that helps the user create podcasts, explainer videos, infographics, flashcards, reports, and more based on the uploaded records.

AI for Marketing and Communications
The in-person conference features a keynote address on the ways artificial intelligence is changing how people find businesses and services on the web. Local business representatives and FLCC faculty and staff will share success stories and host a panel discussion on how AI is changing the marketing and communications industry. The Ontario County Chamber of Commerce is a co-sponsor of the workshop.
No prior experience with AI is required for attendees. The workshop includes a breakout session with separate presentations for beginners and intermediate users.
