Remembering 9/11: A 25th Anniversary Talk

A first responder shares her story of the terrorist attacks.

Finger Lakes Community College will mark the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks with a speaker from the Tunnel to Towers 9/11 Institute, created to share the stories of emergency workers and others who responded.

Sonia Agron, a retired New York City emergency medical technician, will speak via Zoom on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m.

The presentation will also be available on the Finger Lakes TV network, which includes Roku, Spectrum cable channel 1304 and a 24/7 webstream.

Agron responded in the aftermath of September 11, 2001, supporting first responders in rescue and recovery efforts at the St. John’s Respite Center. Today, she serves as a speaker with the Tunnel to Towers Foundation’s 9/11 Institute and a docent at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.

For the past 17 years, Sonia has shared her personal 9/11 story, honoring the memory of those who were lost and inspiring future generations to never forget.

Tunnel to Towers was founded to honor Stephen Gerard Siller, a firefighter with Brooklyn’s Squad 1, who responded to the attack but could not drive past the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel. He strapped 60 pounds of gear to his back and raced on foot through the tunnel to the Twin Towers, where he died while saving others.

This is a one-time live event; it will not be recorded.
