Talk on the Wild Side: Invasive Invasion with Finger Lakes PRISM

Interested in learning about invasive species found throughout the Finger Lakes region? Join Muller Field Station for this Talk on the Wild Side.

Invasive species come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, and are found in various ecological communities of New York State. Invasive species stewardship is a core value at Muller Field Station, helping conserve the 48-acre property, our surrounding ecological communities, and the local watershed. This work could not be done throughout the Finger Lakes region without Finger Lake PRISM (Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management).

Laurel Williams, PRISM’s Invasive Species Education and Outreach Program Manager, will join us for an evening on the relationship between invasive species and ecological consequences, management techniques, citizen science, and community engagement in the world of invasive species. Laurel oversees PRISM’s watercraft steward initiatives and coordinates regional volunteer events. Laurel holds a bachelor's degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Resources from West Virginia University and a master's in Environmental Science from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
