Civics in Action: From Campus to Community

A discussion-centered initiative that engages FLCC participants in dialogue with local civic leaders and community trailblazers across the political spectrum.

Through facilitated conversation, participants examine real-world civic challenges, explore diverse perspectives, and collaboratively consider responses to community needs. Discussions are grounded in local contexts and informed by direct engagement with community partners in surrounding counties, emphasizing respectful dialogue, critical thinking, and active civic participation beyond the classroom.

 

This event is part of the Spring 2026 Civil Discourse Series hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. 

The series will offer students, faculty, and staff opportunities to explore complex social issues through facilitated conversations, panels, and interactive programs that emphasize listening, empathy, and constructive communication.
