English as a Second Language (ESL)
FLCC's free non-credit ESL courses offer non-English speakers the opportunity to improve their English language skills. ESL courses provide you the instruction that can lead you to becoming a fluent speaker of the English language.
About the Program
If you are looking to improve your English language skills, FLCC's ESL courses deliver basic skills instruction that will put you on the path toward becoming a fluent speaker of the English language. ESL course lessons provide intensive English immersion in speaking, reading and writing. FLCC offers beginning, intermediate and advanced ESL courses. Classes are free.
Program Requirements
ESL classes are open to adults and out of school youth age 17 and older. Prior to enrolling in an ESL course, you'll be given a baseline assessment to measure your English language skills and periodically be tested for English language gains. Prerequisites include orientation and oral language pre-assessment sessions.
Class Schedule & Registration
FLCC's beginning, intermediate and advanced ESL courses are offered in fall, spring and summer semesters. The ESL program is flexible and has no mandatory time frame for completion. New students entering ESL classes must attend an in-person orientation and assessment session prior to registration.
