A.S. Program Overview

Our healthcare track is geared towards aspiring nurses and healthcare professionals who wish to make the world a healthier place. The program provides an essential introduction to healthcare and lays the groundwork for success in the industry. Take courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, and First Aid and Basic Life Support. A wide variety of elective course options help you further explore your areas of interests.

Prepare for FLCC's Nursing Program

This program aligns with FLCC's A.A.S. Nursing program course requirements and expectations. As a pre-nursing pathway, this healthcare track introduces concepts that are vital to a nursing student's success. Take prerequisite courses and general education credits that satisfy requirements in our nursing program, which will benefit you whether you enter our nursing program or transfer to a four-year institution to study a related field.

Innovative, Real-World Healthcare Training

Practice your healthcare skills in our recently renovated and expanded Sands Family Center for Allied Health. The space includes a real-life hospital setting, science labs, and a holography lab, which allows students to view three-dimensional images of organs to better understand human anatomy and physiology. You'll receive clinical training and guidance from our experienced instructors from day one, and benefit from opportunities to practice scenarios.

In addition to completing this degree in-person, our entire Health Care Studies program is available online, so you can study on your time and from a location that fits your busy schedule. Join an Active Health Care Studies Learning Community

FLCC has a student-led Health Care Studies club that invites anyone interested in healthcare to join. Many club members already work in the healthcare field and are eager to share their opinions, values, and experiences about the industry. The club meets about once a month to build community and assist one another in their studies.
