By studying world languages and experiencing other cultures, you'll establish a valuable foundation for a successful career in today's global economy.
Study Abroad Options

Travel to France
HUM 220 Study Abroad in the French-speaking World is a three-credit course that's offered during each Spring Semester. This class features a two-week travel period with one of the weeks coinciding with FLCC's Spring Break. The course also includes on-campus classes before and after the international travel experience. Previous study in French is recommended, but not required. The travel itinerary includes:
- Guided tours of Paris featuring museums, monuments, cathedrals, basilicas, and markets
- Guided excursions to cultural and historic sites around the Brittany and Normandy regions
- Homestay accommodations with local host families, including prepared meals
Travel to Costa Rica
HUM 225 Study Abroad in the Spanish-speaking World is a three-credit course that's offered during each Spring Semester. This class features a two-week travel period during the second and third weeks of January. The course also includes on-campus classes after the international travel experience. Previous study in Spanish is recommended, but not required. The travel itinerary includes:
- Guided excursions to ecological zones such as cloud forests, natural preserves, beaches, and volcanoes
- Guided city tours of artisan works, basilicas, plantations, and cultural/sporting events
- Homestay accommodations with local host families, including prepared meals
Scholarships and Financial Aid
State and federal financial aid can be applied toward Study Abroad courses; connect with the Financial Aid Office for assistance. Additionally, you can apply for a $1000 Study Abroad with World Languages Scholarship; the scholarship criteria and application form are included in the course application packet. Other funding may also be available:
Language Course Offerings
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Study Abroad courses with HUM prefixes will not be offered during the 2021-2022 academic year
