DESCRIPTION:The city will dedicate an outdoor sculpture, donated by Associate Professor Barron Naegel, on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 1 p.m. at Gibson Street Park. This small one acre grass park with benches and shade trees is bordered by Park Place and Gibson Street. It is open to the public and also used by St. Mary's School for recess and physical education classes. A reception will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Ontario County Arts Council's Gallery 32 on Main Street. Gallery 32 adjoins the college's downtown gallery, ArtSpace36. The college and arts council collaborate on arts programming for all ages. Barron Naegel has taught ceramics, drawing and sculpture at FLCC for 23 years. Judi Cermak, president of the Ontario County Arts Council, helped arrange the donation starting with a presentation to the City Council in January. Visit the meeting recording on the Finger Lakes TV site and use the chapter list to scroll to the presentation.
