DESCRIPTION:How does a social movement grow? With roots in abolitionist activism, a campaign for women&rsquo;s rights emerged in nineteenth-century upstate New York. This presentation will introduce the five organizers of the 1848 Seneca Falls Women's Rights Convention and describe the pitfalls and triumphs of the grassroots campaign to achieve equal rights.
