Project Success

Mission:

Project Success at Finger Lakes Community College provides intentional student support services to 141 academically needy students who are also identified as having financial challenges and first generation college student status.

Vision:

Project Success at Finger Lakes Community College effectively increases the college retention, graduation, and transfer rates of the students it serves.

Goals:

Persistence Rate

  • 48% of all Project Success participants will persist from one academic year to the beginning of the next academic year or graduate and/or transfer to a 4-year institution during the academic year
  • 66% of those participants will continue in the program for a second year

Good Academic Standing

  • 69% of all Project Success participants will meet the performance level required to stay in good academic standing at Finger Lakes Community College
  • 100% of the participants will actively take part in a specialized Success Seminar
  • 100 % of the participants will actively engage in the following student support services:
    • Academic Coaching
    • Academic Tutoring
    • Peer Mentoring
    • SuccessShops

Graduation and Transfer Rates

  • 18% of new Project Success participants served each year will graduate with an associate degree or certificate within four years
  • 30% of new Project Success participants served each year will transfer with an associate degree or certificate within four years
  • 60% participant satisfaction rate on institutional climate that supports student success survey

Financial Aid and Financial Literacy Education

  • 95% of the participants will apply for financial aid
  • 25% of the participants will apply for a scholarship
