FLCC Construction: Geneva Campus Center
Construction of a permanent Finger Lakes Community College Geneva Campus Center on Pulteney Street is well underway and on schedule for an opening in 2016.
The FLCC Geneva Campus Center will be built on the former site of the old Geneva High School, a 1920s-era building that was torn down in 2013. The project's two parts consist of 18,000 square feet of new construction and the renovation of the old high school's 19,000-square-foot 1965 classroom wing. The FLCC Geneva Campus Center will include general classrooms, a biology lab, an academic support and testing area, a student lounge, two emergency medical service labs, two computer labs, and a food pantry. The building has been designed for certification with the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
During construction, classes are being held in the former DeSales High School building across Pulteney Street under a lease agreement with the Our Lady of Peace Parish.
During demolition of the old Geneva High School, salvageable portions of the old main entrance were preserved and will be incorporated into the new FLCC Geneva Campus Center as shown in the rendering below.
