Dr. Henry Buxbaum Fine Arts Prize

Amount: $500

• Demonstrates superior ability and potential as a fine artist

Robert L. (Rodge) Case Award

Amount: $500

FLCC Horticulture Faculty Award

Francis Finnick Memorial Conservation Award

Amount: $500

• Major: natural resources conservation
• Demonstrates financial need

Fraley Family Award

Amount: $500

• Major: conservation/horticulture
• Preference given to student in natural resource conservation: law enforcement
• Demonstrates academic success and financial need

Garden ProScapes Scholarship

Amount: $600 - $1,000

• Apply by Feb. 15, 2004
• Pursuing a career or continuing education in nursery management or the plant- care field

Brooke Makowiec Memorial Award

Amount: $300

• Female communications major in good academic standing who plans a career in broadcasting

Mathematics Department Award in Memory of Sherman Hunt

Amount: $500

• Good academic standing and enrolled in mathematics classes

Dennis Morga Memorial Business Scholarship

Amount: $1,500

• GPA: minimum 3.0
• Full-time student
• Preference to students who intend to pursue a career in accounting, banking, or finance
• Student must participate in community service and/or FLCC extracurricular activities
• Essay must address career goals
• Two recommendation letters required: one from a teacher; one from someone attesting to applicant’s community or extracurricular service
• Attach resume to application
• Recipient must attend a May event with donors before receiving the award

New York State Arborists Association Scholarship

Amount: $1,000

• Major: horticulture student specializing in a field related to tree culture or care
• Demonstrates academic achievement and essay clearly articulates career goals

New York State Lawn Care Association Scholarship

Amount: $500

• Minimum GPA: 2.5
• Major: green industry (horticulture/turfgrass)related
• Full- or part-time FLCC student

New York State Nursery and Landscape Association Scholarship

Amount: $500

• Major: horticulture, nursery management, or landscape design/architecture
• Demonstrates academic achievement, financial need, and experience or interest in the field

New York State Outdoor Writers Association Scholarship

Amount: $500

• Demonstrates academic achievement
• Essay must address and ethical issue facing conservationists
