College Relations

The roles of the Office of College Relations are to:

  • enhance the positive image of Finger Lakes Community College
  • support, reinforce and communicate the College's major recruitment themes, and
  • inform the communities served by the College about the academic and cultural programs and the support services offered at FLCC.

Our office employs many communication strategies to fulfill these roles, including media relations and news releases; paid advertisements; professional-quality publications and photography; the Web; and more. Our audiences include students, prospective students, and the people who influence the college selection decisions of prospective students (e.g., parents, employers, guidance counselors, etc.).

We work closely with almost every office, department, and division on campus, and view each as a "client." Our goal is to build partnerships with these clients to facilitate timely, positive, and effective College communications.

The Office of College Relations has received both regional and national awards through the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR), the State University of New York, and the Admission's Marketing Report.
