News & Notes
National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence Dr. Robert Ballard, one of the world's foremost deep-sea scientists, was the 2006 FLCC Foundation’s Visiting Scholar Series speaker in September. Presented with an FLCC sweatshirt and cap earlier in the day, Dr. Ballard is seen wearing them in this photo. Over 500 area school students came to campus for an afternoon presentation, and and nearly 1,000 more were on hand at the C-MAC facility in the evening for his keynote address, World Citizenship Through Exploration, History and Education.
Proudly Mention Your Degree
One way you can always assist the College is wherever you go and whatever you do, proudly tell people about your alma mater. Mention it everywhere. FLCC truly is a “great place to start” or start over.
Rochester storyteller Kenneth “Tiny” Glover includes being a graduate of Finger Lakes Community College and SUNY Brockport in all his marketing material. Tiny is a stand-up comedian and works in clubs, colleges and on the radio throughout the US and Canada. Thanks Tiny!
The Alumni Association generously donated benches to each new location of the campus centers in Geneva and Wayne County. Seen in the photo during the Wayne Campus Center Open House on September 26 are Alumni Association President Ethan Fogg ’00 and a tour guide for the event, Johnathan Murray ’05.
