A College lives through its alumni. The accomplishments and service of individuals to their professions and communities contribute to the College's success and reputation. Finger Lakes Community College will annually honor individual alumni for their outstanding achievements.

The Distinguished Alumni Award

• Nominees must be FLCC degree or certificate program graduates and are eligible to be nominated immediately upon graduation.
• Nominations can be made posthumously.
• Nominations may be made by the individual or by someone else. Current Alumni Association Council members, Foundation Board members and members of the Board of Trustees, past recipients, and College employees are ineligible.

The Distinguished Alumni Award is given for achievement in one or more of the following areas.

Professional Achievement-Performed with distinction in their field as evidenced by more than one of the following: advanced degrees received; promotions in their field; honors/awards received from professional organizations recognized as outstanding in the field; offices held in professional organizations; publications/presentations of their work.

Community Service-Served with distinction in civic, service and/or philanthropic organizations as evidenced by making significant contributions to the advancement and leadership of the organization(s); recognition (honors/awards) for volunteer service on the local, regional, state, national, or international level.

Service to FLCC-Demonstrated outstanding loyalty and service over a period of several years to the College and/or Alumni Association as evidenced by volunteer participation and philanthropic support.

Outstanding Spirit-Demonstrated an indomitable spirit to overcome significant obstacles and challenges to receive a/an CCFL/FLCC education that transformed his/her life. This may be evidenced by professional achievement or community service, but in general would be characterized as personal growth because of their education.

The deadline for submission of nominations is June 30 of each year. Nominees will receive a request to submit documents supporting their nomination. Recipients and their nominators will be notified by September  1 of each year. Awards will be presented at an event during the following Commencement Weekend.

FLCC Alumni Association Exceptional Service Award

A Tradition of Extraordinary Talent and Expertise Exists at the College!

FLCC Alumni Association Creates Award to Recognize Outstanding Contributors

Do you know someone affiliated with CCFL/FLCC that the FLCC Alumni Association should honor for outstanding service to the College?

To identify and recognize the individuals within the CCFL/FLCC College community and also publicly, in the larger community served by the College, the FLCC Alumni Association is establishing the FLCC Alumni Association Exceptional Service Award. Nominations are being solicited via both the Ambassador and on the College web site.
When considering individuals for nomination, please review the criteria for selection below. Current and former faculty, students, staff, trustees, alumni, and others both living and deceased are eligible for nomination.

CRITERIA: Selection will be based upon one or more of the following:

• Outstanding contributions to the campus experience and commitment to students
• Development of innovative programs which have significant impact upon students
• Outstanding contributions to the CCFL/FLCC Alumni Association

Athletic Hall of Fame Inductees

The FLCC Department of Physical Education and Integrated Health Care (formerly Health and Physical Education) accepts nominations for inductees to the Athletic Hall of Fame.  Consider nominating someone you know who graduated at least three years ago and, as a member of an intercollegiate team at FLCC, distinguished themselves as an athlete.  The award's purpose is also to recognize athletes who, in their lives and work since leaving the College, have served as role models for current student athletes.

John L. Pietropaolo Chemical Dependency Counseling Alumni Award

This award, open to all program graduates, is presented each May at the FLCC Alumni Association Awards Reception.  The criteria include: graduate of the CDC program at FLCC, employed, and making positive contributions in the chemical dependency counseling field, involved with volunteer community service, upholds the standards of the Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor credential.

Horticulture and Conservation Outstanding Alumni Achievement Awards

Outstanding Nursing Alumni Award
