General Education Course Requirements for Transfer Programs

In December 1998, the State University of New York Board of Trustees established general education requirements for all baccalaureate degree candidates at the University’s state-operated campuses. In response to these general education requirements, Finger Lakes Community College has revised the general education requirements for its degree programs that are designed for transfer, specifically its Associate in Science degrees and Associate in Arts degrees. The College adopted the requirements based on the recommendations of the Provost’s Advisory Task Force on General Education.

Students enrolled in the Associate in Arts (A.A.) Liberal Arts and Sciences degree program are required to take the following in order to meet Finger Lakes Community College general education requirements:

  • One course from the Fine Arts Competency area of general education
