Engineering Science Faculty
Selim Araci
Selim Araci started his teaching career at FLCC in 1987. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from SUNY Buffalo. Dr. Araci is the lead instructor for Engineering Science, and in this capacity, he teaches all fundamental engineering courses at FLCC. These courses include Statics, Dynamics, Strength of Materials, Electric Circuits, Thermodynamics, Computing for Engineers, and Introduction to Engineering.
In 2004, Dr. Araci was selected to be a NASA Faculty Fellow and in that capacity, he conducted research on jet engine turbines at NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He has been a member of various professional societies including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Dr. Araci is currently serving as the President of the SUNY Two Year Engineering Science Association.
Dr. Araci received the FLCC Distinguished Service Award in 1997. He was also the recipient of the SUNY Chancellor's Award in Teaching in 2007, and he is listed in the 9th Edition of Who's Who in Science and Engineering.
Joshua Bell
Joshua Bell is an adjunct instructor and technical specialist for the Engineering Science program. He holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering with a concentration in Materials Engineering from Clarkson University. Josh specializes in the design and fabrication of new or modified components and assemblies. He currently teaches Materials and Processes 1 and 2. In these courses, Josh instructs students on the basics of machining with CNC and manual Mill and Lathe.
Jason Taylor
Jason Taylor is an adjunct instructor who teaches classes in engineering design in the Engineering Science program. In addition to teaching at FLCC, Jason is a full-time technology education Instructor at Bloomfield Central School. Jason earned his B.S. degree in Technology Education from SUNY Oswego.
